Muncipal Council

1. There are total 36 Municipal Councils in Nashik Division out of which 24 Municipal Councils are to be inspected every year, as the prescribed norm.

2. There is provision U/s 308(3) of Maharashtra Municipal Councils, Nagar Panchayats and Act 1965, to file an appeal to Divisional Commissioner, against the orders passed U/s 308(1), (2) issued by Collector. (within 30 days from the date of receipt of order)

3. To conduct quarterly meetings of all chief officers of Municipal. Councils.

4. As per the provision contained in Sec.9(2), to approve the reserve seats in respect of Municipal Council general elections.

5. To sanction the water supply schemes of urgent nature. (Powers vested with Div. Commissioner)

6. In order to achieve the target under the Swarna Jayanti Shahari Rozgar Yojana, Conduct meetings of concerned officials and to issue necessary instructions to that effect.

7. To arrange the tour programme of Sant Gadgebaba Abhiyan, Divisional level Committee and declare the result of third round.

The Maharashtra Municipal Councils, Nagar Panchayats and Industrial Townships Act 1965.Sect. 308 Powers to Suspend execution of orders and resolution of Council on certain grounds.

As per the provisions laid down in Sect.308(1), If, in the opinion of the Collector, the execution of any order or resolution of a Council, or the doing of anything which is about to be done or is being done by or on behalf of a Council is causing or is likely to cause injury or annoyance to the public or is against public interest or to lead to a breach of the peace or is unlawful, he may by order in writing under his signature suspend the execution or prohibit the doing thereof.

U/s 308(3), within thirty days from the receipt of order of Collector, the Council if it so desires, forward a statement to the Directior indicating therein why the order of the Collector should be rescinded, revised or modified.

Swarna Jayanti Shahari Rozgar Yojana 1997

The The Swarna Jayanti Shahari Rozgar Yojana shall seek to provide gainful employment to the urban unemployed or under employed poor through encouraging the setting up to self employment.This Yojana shall be funded on 75:25 basis between the centre and the states. This Yojana consist of two special schemes, namely –

• The urban self employment Programme (USEP)

• The urban wage employment Programme (UWEP)

This Yojana rests on a foundation of community empowerment, rather than relying on the traditional method of top down implementation.This programme shall reply on establishing and promoting Community organistions and structures to provide supporting and facilitating mechanisms for local development.

Swarna Jayanti Shahari Rozgar Yojana 1997

• Self employment through seting up Micro-enterprises and skill development.
• Development women and children in Urban areas (DWCUA)
• Neghihbourhood groups (NHGS) and Neghihbourhood Committees (NHC)
• Training to individuals/ groups.
• Community Development societies (CDS)
• Infrastructural amenities.
• Urban Employment
